The Philadelphia Eagles have had no luck with injuries in their secondary this season.

And after placing starting nickel Avonte Maddox on injured reserve with a pectoral injury, they decided to look at adding some immediate help to the position.

On Tuesday, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that the team brought in former New Orleans Saints and Denver Broncos starting corner, Bradley Roby.

Per Schultz, Roby had a chance to sign with a handful of other teams but chose Philly for a shot at winning another Super Bowl.

Roby, 31, was a first-round draft pick by the Denver Broncos in 2014. In his second season with Denver, he helped lead the team to a Super Bowl win as their starting nickelback.

He spent five seasons playing for the Broncos before signing with the Houston Texans who would end up trading him to the New Orleans Saints. Roby spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons in New Orleans but an ankle injury kept his production down last year.

Through 27 games with the Saints, Roby logged 59 totals tackles, one sack, an interception and two forced fumbles.

According to ESPN's Tim McManus, the Eagles plan to keep Roby on the practice squad where he will get into shape and learn the defense, and then ultimately sign him to the 53-man roster.

Cornerback James Bradberry has been rotating in the slot since Maddox was injured but it's clear the Eagles are more comfortable with him playing outside.

The Eagles released outside linebacker Kyron Johnson to make room for Roby.
