The Philadelphia Eagles are turning to the next man up as they begin to navigate through key injuries.

Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis was placed on injured reserve last week after suffering an ankle injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers. With Davis on the shelf, Philadelphia needed to elevate somebody to fill the final spot on the team’s 53-man active roster.

That somebody happened to be safety, and special teams ace, Andre Chachere.

The Birds elevated Chachere to the active roster for the third time this season. It’s important to note that a team can only activate the same player three times throughout the season.

Chachere went undrafted out of San Jose State in 2018, and is currently playing in his second season with the Eagles. After playing 16 games for Philly last year, Chachere has logged snaps in three games this season, registering two tackles.

Davis will miss at least three more games for Philadelphia, meaning that Chachere’s stint with the Eagles last longer than some might expect.
