Few athletes are as outspoken as the Eagles’ longtime center Jason Kelce. With 12 years of NFL experience and six Pro Bowls under his belt, Kelce has earned the right to talk a little trash.

That being said, the 35-year old future Hall of Famer knows how to pick his battles. In Saturday night’s win over the New York Giants, one of his teammates misplaced his trash talk, putting Kelce in quite the bind.

Fellow Eagles veteran Brandon Graham exchanged barbs with Giants DT Dexter Lawrence. At six-foot-four and 342 pounds, Lawrence doesn’t need any extra motivation to ramp up his physicality.

As center, it’s Kelce who had to line up across from Lawrence for the entire game. To keep from adding more fuel to Lawrence’s fire, Kelce told a hilarious story on a conversation he had with Graham.

“I wasn’t happy about that,” Kelce told reporters on Thursday. I told him right after that, ‘Hey man, you talk s*** to the (offensive) tackle. I’ll handle this guy. I don’t need him more revved up than he already is.”

Fortunately for the Eagles, all is well that ends well. Kelce and the offensive line will have their hands full with a ferocious San Francisco 49ers pass rush. Like Lawrence, Nick Bosa and company won’t need any bulletin board material to get them going.

Graham, who has a high football IQ, has hopefully learned his lesson and is reserving any trash talk for the ‘Niners’ offensive line this weekend.
