The Philadelphia Eagles could go several directions at No. 22 overall in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, but it should be a defensive pick.

John McMullen at JAKIB Sports believes Penn State edge Chop Robinson might be a real option for the Birds in Round 1, especially following his impressive 4.48-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine.

"Chop Robinson. … That's a name you gotta put in the mix pretty seriously at pick 22 for the Eagles," McMullen said. "254 he weighed in, so a little bit more size to be able to run that fast. It is pretty impressive. That all depends on Haason Reddick and what happens. If the Eagles do trade Haason Reddick, they're going to have to seriously consider edge rusher at 22."

Robinson's 40 time ranked second-best among the edge rushers who took part in the on-field testing at the Combine. His 1.54 seconds at 10 yards was also one of the best for edge rushes with his size over the last decade.

Robinson's broad jump of 10 feet and 8 inches tied for first in the group.

Alabama edge Dallas Turner finished ahead of Robinson with a 4.46-second 40, though he weighed in seven pounds lighter.

Robinson was initially projected as a Day 2 selection, but his near-perfect testing at the Combine now has him going off the draft board on Day 1.

When Eagles general manager Howie Roseman spoke to the media on Tuesday, it sounded like they are not committed to re-signing Reddick to the kind of contract he wants, so addressing an edge with their first pick by going with Robinson could be the right move.
