It still feels surreal for Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown.

He's working in February, which means he's getting ready for the Super Bowl. When Brown was first traded to the Eagles, he had a rough estimate of how good the team could be. he believed in the players the organization put in the locker room, and he believed in quarterback Jalen Hurts. But what set the Eagles apart, at least to Brown, was something intangible, something off the field that only comes by way of building relationships —  accountability.

“This group held everybody accountable,” he said. “It’s football and stuff happens, and we had a hiccup here, a hiccup there, but it’s a special group, and I think the group held everybody accountable.”

Brown was the flagship piece of Philadelphia general manager Howie Roseman's busy offseason. And Brown rewarded Roseman's belief in him with an 11-touchdown, 1,496-yard season.

“We’re just doing whatever it takes right now," Brown said. "You never know how the game will go, just be prepared. I’m doing my job, I’m blocking, whatever the case may be. I don’t really care how it gets done, as long as it gets done.”

In the Eagles' two playoff wins that landed the team in the Super Bowl, Brown hasn't been nearly as productive as he was in the regular season. He has just seven catches for 50 yards. But it's not the passing and receiving numbers that got Philadelphia to the Super Bowl. It's the rushing game that has stunted opponents.

More than anything else, however, it's the Eagles' level of accountability that has set them up for their first Super Bowl win since 2017.
