Philadelphia Eagles starting slot cornerback Avonte Maddox could be out for the rest of the 2023 season.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Maddox is 'feared to have torn his pectoral" in Thursday night's 34-28 win over the Minnesota Vikings.

Schefter added that if that is the case–following a second doctor's opinion–then Maddox is done for the year.

Maddox left Thursday's game early with a shoulder injury and did not return. Former 2022 undrafted free agent Mario Goodrich stepped up in his absence, playing 39 snaps and registering four total tackles.

The Eagles can't afford to take any more hits to their secondary which is already dwindling down, though both safety Reed Blankenship (ribs) and cornerback James Bradberry (concussion) should be trending toward returning.
