Physicality is one element the Philadelphia Eagles (7-0) have been able to hang their hat on through the team’s first seven games, but head coach Nick Sirianni is taking a different approach this week.
Sirianni’s Eagles are set to hit the road to face off against the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football. Historically, the short week has been known to pose a problem for road teams playing in TNF.
However, Philadelphia is embracing the challenge this week. After Sunday’s win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Sirianni preached on mental fortitude ahead of his team’s next matchup.
“The Thursday night game is an advantage for the team that thinks it’s an advantage,” Sirianni told his team in the locker room. “It’s going to be an advantage for us. We’ve got the right people in place.”
The Eagles are already difficult enough to prepare for on a normal week, but the Texans will certainly have their hands full with just three days of preparation.
The Eagles look to continue to impose their will through a physical brand of football, but Sirianni is making sure his team stays sharp mentally in what most will refer to as a trap game.
