The Pittsburgh Steelers were likely sound asleep when the news they lost one of their practice squad WRs came down.

Announcing his departure via TikTok, Simi Fehoko is now a member of the Los Angeles Chargers, receiving a promotion even he didn't see coming:

Gone So Soon?

Fehoko was signed during the roster cutdown period, and never actually played for the Steelers. He had yet to be elevated from the practice squad despite the injury to WR Diontae Johnson.

Following what has been confirmed as an ACL tear to Chargers star WR Mike Williams, Los Angeles was likely looking around for depth and upside, something Fehoko provides:

If you are unfamiliar with NFL rules, any player on a team's practice squad is eligible to be signed to another team. That's because that player isn't actually a part of the organization's 53-man roster, meaning a signing and promotion from another club has authority.

And while the news ends a family pairing, seeing as his cousin Breiden Fehoko is also a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, it's good news for Simi Fehoko because as he said in the announcement, he's got a game to play this Sunday.
