Just because you're a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers 53-man roster doesn't mean you'll be playing on gameday, even if healthy.

That's because the NFL limits teams to 46 active players on game day.

So with the context clear, here are the inactives for today's matchup:

Steelers Inactive players:

  • QB Kenny Pickett
  • RB Anthony McFarland
  • CB James Pierre
  • LB Markus Golden
  • T Dylan Cook
  • DE DeMarvin Leal

Patriots Inactive players:

  • WR DeVante Parker
  • CB Shaun Wade
  • RB Rhamondre Stevenson
  • RBJamycal Hasty
  • T Vederian Lowe
  • WR Kayshon Boutte
  • WR Demario Douglas

Observations:

With Kenny Pickett on the shelf for what looks to be longer than anticipated, the Steelers brought in some extra help at the QB position this week, meaning Trace McSorley will take Mason Rudolph's spot as the emergency QB as Rudolph prepares for backup duty.

As for the Steelers that were questionable all week, the trio of LB Elandon Roberts, C Mason Cole, and G Isaac Seumalo are all active ad will play tonight.

An offense that has been even more pedestrian than Pittsburgh's, the Patriots just got even worse with "Pop" Douglas and Rhamondre Stevenson both slated to miss tonight's game. That will surely give the Steelers a leg up.
