Emotions tend to run high after football games, both good and bad.
That only is magnified in playoff scenarios where season and NFL legacies are on the line.
And following a loss that was still fresh, Pittsburgh Steelers HC Mike Tomlin let those emotions get the best of him:
Tomlin Walks Out
There was a slight grunt as soon as Coach Tomlin realized where the question was going, followed by his immediate walk off the podiun in front of the press and millions watching live on NFL Network.
Tomlin's future with the team has been in the news recently, with many speculating that while it's unlikely that he will be fired, there's a chance he walks away from the team to take a year off and potentially comeback with another organization later down the line.
With the Patriots and BIll Belichick parting ways after 24 years, Mike Tomlin is officially the longest-tenured HC in the NFL, and also holds the most consecutive winning seasons among any active HC, as he was never gone below .500 in his 17 years as leader of the black and gold.
It should be noted that the Rooney's have emphasized their want to extend Tomlin's contract passed the 2024 season , and Tony Romo and Jim Nantz who called the Steelers- Bills game on Monday were adamant that Tomlin was going to be back.
That was before the game and a Steelers loss that leaves them going home yet another year without any hardware however.
So we'll find out soon enough if Tomlin was just frustrated or if he has truly run his course in Pittsburgh.
