Here is what we found:
Steelers Postgame Injury Update
- Kenny Pickett: Pickett left the game after turning his ankle when extending for the goalline late in the first half. He was ruled out before the second half began. Coach Tomlin added: "Kenny couldn't go with his ankle."
- Minkah Fitzpatrick: According to Coach T, Minkah broke his hand but was able to finish after putting a cast on it.
- T.J. Watt: Watt would leave the game with an ankle injury sustained in the fourth quarter. He was visibly in a ton of pain when the medical staff was working on his ankle. Watt would return after Pittsburgh's TD. Coach T had nothing to add
- Isaac Seumalo: One of Pittsburgh's best offensive linemen, seeing Seumalo be ruled out with an upper-body injury was particularly concerning given most big guys tough out upper-body injuries. Addressing Seumalo's injury, Coach Tomlin said: "Isaac hurt his shoulder and couldn't return."
- Elandon Roberts: The absolute last position Pittsburgh could afford to lose players at, following Roberts' departure from the game left the Steelers down to their fourth string of backers. As far as his status, Coach Tomlin added: "Roberts has a groin and couldn't finish."
Observations
These injuries couldn't have come at worse time for the Steelers, seeing as the NFL thought that scheduling not one, but two Thursday Night Football games for Pittsburgh was a good idea.
Pittsburgh will now have to try and win a game against the Patriots on a quick turnaround likely down multiple starters.
