After the performance of his NFL career, one would think the Steelers are in prime position to finish the season with Mason Rudolph as starting QB.
But as long as Kenny Pickett is healthy, it's his show in Pittsburgh.
So following the latest news from NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Steelers may have a tricky situation on their hands:
Pickett is Ready To Return
Pickett is finally ready to return to in-game action following the ankle surgery that caused him to miss the past three games.
Pickett returned to practice in a limited fashion last week, and advanced significantly, even leading some to believe progressed enough to start on Saturday against the Bengals.
But Pittsburgh opted to roll with Mason Rudolph instead and proved them right en route to a career-defining day.
That means Pittsburgh will have a tough decision to make on who will start this week.
Rolling with the hot hand as a playoff spot is on the line seems reasonable, but Kenny Pickett will be given every opportunity to prove himself until he shows he's either Pittsburgh's QB of the future or destined for another team.
