The Pittsburgh Steelers have started the preseason in perfect fashion.

Not only 2-0 in the win column, but offensively, Pittsburgh has scored on every drive when the starters have played.

Center Mason Cole has an idea on why that is:

Cole: "It Almost Slows Down"

"It's hard to tell this early in the year," said Cole on what has led to the stellar offensive drives. "I think really it comes down to the competition we face in training camp. It's so competitive for the three and a half weeks in Latrobe so we get into game situations and it just feels almost slows down to a certain point. So it's good. I credit Coach Tomlin and the competitiveness for our success here."

Now that may have been a slight jab at the Bills' starting defense, but it speaks to the narrative that I helped grow over the past month in Latrobe.

Whether or not Pittsburgh will be good is yet to be known, but what is already cemented, is the toughness and competitive stamina this team has.

Practicing day after day against each other, in the hottest part of the day, away from family and in dorm rooms despite being millionaires with palatial estates, it takes a special human to get through Steelers training camp.

But you know what? We have precedent when it comes to tough camps and success. Outside of Mike Tomlin and the Steelers, do you know which two franchises are noted for having the toughest camps?

Andy Reid in Kansas City, and Bill Belichick in New England.

I'd say that's good company to be in, so hopefully, their success in February falls onto the Steelers' next.
