Not a soul inside the UPMC complex will be thinking of anything past Wildcard Weekend this week.

That's because the Steelers just punched their ticket to the postseason, and will likely be road dogs no matter where they go.

But that doesn't prevent us from pondering on the future of the Steelers, and Coach Tomlin in particular.

Break Time?

"He's [Mike Tomlin] got a year left on his contract, and there's some people around the league that believe Mike Tomlin could decide, eventually, to take some time off, like Sean Payton did, said ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter on Sunday NFL Countdown. "We'll see if that's something on his mind. Mike Tomlin gets to dictate what happens here, not the Pittsburgh Steelers, He's staying on, but only if he wants to."

This isn't the first time this year that a change of scenery for Coach Tomin has been floated out there, with Fox NFL insider and friend of Mike Tomlin, Jay Glazer saying he could see him leaving Pittsburgh, but on his terms:

"Mike Tomlin, a couple weeks ago people were asking for him to be gone. Are you kidding me, people," said Glazer on ox NFL kickoff. "He's never had a losing season. So, Mike Tomlin, it will be his choice if he goes back to the Steelers or not. It will be his choice."

So we'll see where things go from here. To be clear, Mike Tomlin's contract is due for an extension though it has been reported that the Steelers look to do just that.

The playoffs will likely be a key factor in his decision, with the ball certainly in Tomlin's court.
