The Pittsburgh Steelers are down two of their three best linebackers as we approach the Browns game.
To make matters worse, the two veterans in Holcomb and Alexander will be out for the remainder of the season.
Well, despite saying they would stick to internal promotion, Pittsburgh could reportedly be reuniting with a familiar face:
Myles Jack Coming Back?
Jack started 13 games for the Steelers last season, recording an impressive 104 tackles in his lone season in Pittsburgh.
But despite being solid for most of the year, Pittsburgh wanted to overhaul their linebacking corps, getting back to the thumping mentality with Elandon Roberts, Cole Holcomb, and Kwon Alexander.
And the group was showing serious signs of improvement, with Holcomb on his way to a career year.
But then the latter of the trio suffered season-ending injuries in back-to-back weeks, leaving Pittsburgh vulnerable in the heart of their defense.
So that's where Jack comes in. The recently turned 28-year-old retired after being released by the Steelers, but he then made a brief return to the NFL, playing with the Eagles before being released again.
So look, it's obviously not Pittsburgh's choice, but you have to do what you have to do when your team is banged up. With the team likely elevating practice squad linebackers Tariq Carpenter and Mykal Walker, Jack is depth behind those two, if not better in the short,. Sio we'll see what happens, but these two may be getting back together.
