It seems that no matter which way you turn, Pittsburgh Steelers outside LB T.J. Watt is being discounted.
Whether it be his own HC (albeit trying to make a point) the oddsmakers in Vegas or his NFL peers, it seems people are forgetting how dominant Watt is.
In doing so, the latest poll proves that players obviously don't watch Watt the way they should:
The problem with lists like these is that they are subjectively based. Humans, particularly ones who have relationships with many on this list were the ones voting. And before Watt detractors say I'm a biased member of Steelers media, no need to be a homer here folks, the numbers can do all the talking:

Not only does Watt lead Garrett in the standard metrics, but a look at more advanced or deeper stats shows that Watt also leads Garrett in QB hits, pressures, hurries and QB knockdowns.
How about Maxx Crosby:

So as you can see, there's not really a whole lot of ground to stand on when comparing Watt to the two pass rushers that were named to the list ahead of him.
And to be clear, this isn't the real All-Pro nod that players put on their career resume or earn incentives off of.
No no, this was merely voted on by players opposed to media at the Associated Press.
In my opinion, that almost makes things worse, as Watt should be regarded in the highest honor among his peers.
But his foes either don't watch enough Watt film, or they have greatness fatigue because it's hard to believe there's one, much less two players better at their position than T.J. Watt.
