In football, they say if you have two quarterbacks you have none.
Well, prior to Saturday's win over the Bengals, it looked as if Pittsburgh may have had none.
But after a big win and one of the best performances from a Steelers QB in years, Mason Rudolph just set the stage for a tough decision in the week ahead:
Go Big Or Go Home
The longest tenured QB on the roster, veteran backup Mason Rudolph started his first game in over two and a half years and played as if it was his last.
Just days before Christmas, the veteran gave Steelers fans a much needed gift, throwing for 290 yards and two TDs to go along with a 124 QB rating.
For reference, that is more yards than Kenny Pickett has ever thrown for, ties Pickett's career high for TDs and is the highest QB rating from a Steelers QB in over three years.
So I'm not saying that Rudolph is better, but following tightrope surgery that is designed to quite literally rush someone back from a pretty serious ankle injury, maybe Pittsburgh tells Kenny to take things slow this week, letting Mason work his magic to close out the Holiday season on New Year's eve in Seattle.
