When the Pittsburgh Steelers traded for Allen Robinson last offseason, I like many others were left shaking their head.

But after seeing that they attained him for a mere 7th-round pick and had the Los Angeles Rams (his previous team) pick up the majority of his 2023 salary, I felt better about it.

Steelers Save $10m by Releasing Allen Robinson

Robinson was tired on the team in targets last season at 49, but he accounted for a mere 280 yards and no touchdowns.

He was an excellent team leader and a terrific blocker, but $10m on the 2024 salary cap is quite the price to play for someone doing as much, with Pittsburgh clearing space ahead of a pivotal free agency.
