Football is a young man’s game.

And while even the “older” players in the league are young by society’s standards, time catches up quick for even the best in the NFL.

It seems that has happened with Patrick Peterson and the Pittsburgh Steelers:

Steelers Release Patrick Peterson

Peterson signed a two year deal last offseason, and was a key member of the Steelers secondary in 2023, playing in every game and making 16 starts.

But with Peterson at 34 years old and due a March 16th roster bonus, the team decided to cut ties in effort to save nearly $7 million that can be used ahead of next week’s free agency period.

Arguably the best corner of his generation, the eight time Pro Bowler, three time All-Pro, and 2010’s Hall of Fame team member will be in Canton on the first ballot five years after his retirement.
