Three matchups to watch during Steelers vs. 49ers Week 1

The Pittsburgh Steelers will have their hands full with the reigning NFC West Champions on Sunday.
Not to be trifled with, the San Francisco 49ers have a team that can compete for a Super Bowl this season.
But if you read my final prediction article, Pittsburgh wants to be a part of that conversation, and it starts with winning Week 1, with these matchups being pivotal in the outcome:
T.J. Watt vs. Colton McKivitz
Now, Pittsburgh will likely rotate their plethora of pass rushers away from future Hall of Fame left tackle Jason Peters, meaning 49ers right tackle Colton McKivitz could be in for a long afternoon in Pittsburgh, especially when T.J. Watt is lined up in front of him.
A former defensive MVP in Watt matched up against a player with only five starts to his name, T.J. has the potential to start his comeback year with a huge statement, looking to make life difficult on Brock Purdy and McKivitz alike.
Kenny Pickett vs. 49ers Defense
Kenny Pickket finished the preseason in perfect fashion. With an undefeated record and a passer rating of 158.3, he literally couldn't have played better if he tried. But those were exhibition games, and now Pickett has to show what we saw in August was an appetizer, not a fluke.
No better chance to do so than against one of the best defenses in the league, with all eyes on him and the offense on Sunday.
Mike Tomlin vs. Kyle Shanahan
My favorite matchup of the weekend, we get to witness two of the best coaches in the league gameplan against each other, seeing as Tomlin has a defensive background and Shanahan is labeled an "offensive genius."
There is a chance these two meet much later down the road if both of their seasons go to plan, but for now, Sunday will be a test to see who should receive higher praise.
