San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk rarely touches the ball and his wife is talked about more in the news than he is these days but that doesn't mean he is underappreciated.

Juszczyk's teammate and running back Christian McCaffrey sang nothing but high praise for him in an interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio during Super Bowl LVIIl media week.

“Anytime No. 44 is in front of me I know the play has a chance to go," McCaffrey said. I think what makes him so special is how dynamic he is. He’s a fullback but he’s not. He can really do anything. And he understands the game so well and I think he's perfect for our system. He's a special athlete. He can run routes, block, he can read schemes, be your 3rd down back and run check options and check choices and catch the ball out of the backfield … That’s how you know you have a special player."

Juszczyk's ability to block is what makes him so important in the Niners' offense and what makes McCaffrey's job that much easier.

"I think his biggest strength too is just the ability to play fast," McCaffrey continued. "Because he's so smart he plays fast and he beats guys to the point. And obviously, as a runner, that's exciting."

If things go the way they did in 2020, Juszczyk could make a bigger splash with some toe touches on Sunday as he did in Super Bowl LIV— the last time the 49ers played the Kansas City Chiefs for a Lombardi Trophy.

Juszczyk was unexpectedly one of the top three targets in the game for Jimmy Garoppolo and finished the devasting 31-20 Super Bowl loss catching three passes for 39 yards and a touchdown.

But even if he isn't used the same way come this Super Bowl Sunday, you can bet that he's going to make sure every snap he plays is impactful and that McCaffrey's running lane is open.
