San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey is Super Bowl-bound after helping his team take down the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship.
McCaffrey finished the evening rushing 20 times for 90 yards with two touchdowns. He also added 42 yards on four catches in the air.
Up next is a trip to Las Vegas where the 49ers will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII.
And if the 49ers win, McCaffrey and his dad, Ed McCaffrey, could join an "exclusive club."
Only one other father-son duo in the NFL has won a Super Bowl with the same franchise: Steve and Zak DeOssie with the New York Giants.
But that can change on Feb. 11.
Ed, a former NFL wide receiver, was a part of the 49ers' Super Bowl XXIX win in 1995 when they beat the then-San Diego Chargers 49-26.
The difference?
Christian will play a much larger role compared to his dad, who logged one catch for five yards in the Niners' SB win back then.
The former Carolina Panthers' eighth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft was traded to San Francisco in 2022 and has been the team's leading rusher and bell cow ever since.
He finished the 2023 regular season leading the NFL with 2,023 yards from scrimmage and 21 total touchdowns.
In the postseason so far, Christian has carried the ball 37 times for 188 yards and four touchdowns for the 49ers.
