Christian McCaffrey reportedly told Kyle Shanahan to game plan as if he will play in the San Francisco 49ers' Week 7 clash with the Minnesota Vikings.

All the signs are that his confidence was well placed.

McCaffrey, having missed practice on both Thursday and Friday with an oblique injury, was seen on the field for the 49ers' final practice on Saturday ahead of their Monday Night Football encounter with Minnesota.

However, wide receiver Deebo Samuel (shoulder) and All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams (ankle), who also suffered injuries in the 49ers' first loss of the season at the hands of the Cleveland Browns last week, were not seen for the portion of the practice open to the media.

Neither Samuel nor Williams has practiced at all this week, casting doubt on their participation in the primetime contest.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said on Friday that he is not ruling any of his injured offensive trio out of the game, pointing to the extra day off on Sunday as something that could still allow them to feature against the Vikings.

Williams battled through his ankle issue but the 49ers averaged only 3.9 yards per play versus the Browns, struggling to adapt with both Samuel and McCaffrey off the field.

But the Niners moved the ball well in the first half when McCaffrey was still out there, with their lack of points in a 19-17 defeat largely an issue of missed opportunities.

Going against a Vikings defense that should be much more hospitable than that of the Browns, the 49ers will hope McCaffrey's presence can help them perform at somewhere close to the levels they reached on offense through the first five weeks even if Samuel and Williams cannot go.
