Having this month been announced as the cover star for Madden NFL 25, it was no surprise to see San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey feature heavily in the trailer.

EA Sports released the Reveal trailer for the game this week, capping it off with a look at McCaffrey doing what he has done frequently for the 49ers since his midseason trade from the Carolina Panthers in 2022.

Nobody did a good job of stopping McCaffrey last season as he claimed Offensive Player of the Year honors, leading the NFL in rushing yards (1,459), yards from scrimmage (2,023) and total touchdowns.

But arguably the team he has enjoyed tormenting the most since joining the 49ers is the Seattle Seahawks.

In four games (including postseason) against the Seahawks as a member of the Niners, McCaffrey has 486 rushing yards and three touchdowns at an average of 6.4 yards per carry. He also has 80 receiving yards and a touchdown on 14 catches.

Last season, McCaffrey had 129 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns, including a wonderful slaloming eight-yard run, in the 49ers' Thanksgiving win on the road in Seattle.

Two weeks later, McCaffrey went 72 yards on the opening play from scrimmage against Seattle, though he was just kept out of the endzone.

As such, it's fitting that the trailer comes to an end with McCaffrey surging away from and jinking past Seahawks defenders.

The Seahawks will hope for defensive improvement under new head coach Mike MacDonald this season but, given his track record against Seattle, there's a strong chance that, when the two teams face off in 2025, McCaffrey will make it a case of life imitating art with more devastating displays versus one of his favorite opponents of recent times.
