San Francisco 49ers utility do-it-all-player Deebo Samuel just put the rest of the NFL on notice in his latest workout video.
He hit a top speed of 18.6 miles per hour on the treadmill.
Yes, you read that right. 18.6 miles per hour.
Samuel is one of the best athletes on the Niners' roster. In 2021, Samuel was named first-team All-Pro after he caught 77 passes for 1,405 yards and six touchdowns. He also had 59 rushes for 365 yards and eight touchdowns.
During the 2022 NFL season, however, Samuel took a step back in his production.
He caught 56 passes for 632 yards and two touchdowns. But he also suffered a hamstring injury and an ankle injury that slowed down his on-field play throughout the season.
So, it seems that Samuel is training to get back to where he was in 2021. And if he is running nearly 20 miles an hour, there aren't many defensive backs or linebackers that will be able to keep up with him in the open field.
Samuel will catch passes from either Purdy, Trey Lance, or Sam Darnold, who has impressed teammates this offseason.
And it's clear he is already putting the NFL on notice — Samuel is back.
