*Odds subject to change
- Chargers cover 2.5-point spread
Being the road team for a Thursday night game this time of year is extremely challenging. These two teams are pretty evenly matched, but star cornerback Patrick Surtain II being hobbled with an ankle injury is concerning for Denver. I believe this game will come down to which team takes care of the ball better. Considering that Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert has thrown just two interceptions this season and Nix of the Broncos has thrown five in his last two games, I'm taking Los Angeles for the win and to cover the small spread. - Chargers WR Ladd McConkey OVER 5.5 receptions
McConkey by far leads all Chargers pass catchers in targets with 88 and receptions with 63, and has caught at least six passes in four of his last seven games. Broncos star cornerback Patrick Surtain II suffered an ankle injury on Sunday, and although he may play in this game, he could a bit hobbled and limited on a short week, which could open things up more for McConkey.
-
Broncos WR Courtland Sutton OVER 63.5 receiving yards
Like McConkey with Los Angeles, Sutton is by far and away the top pass catcher for the Broncos. His production was down last week, but previous to that Sutton easily reached 64 receiving yards in six-straight games. The Chargers' secondary got cooked by Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receivers Mike Evans and Jalen McMillan last week, as they combined for 234 yards.
