Minnesota Vikings vs. Atlanta Falcons

  • Falcons cover +5.5-point spread
You pretty much know what to expect from the Vikings at this point – good defense and safe, ball control offense. Minnesota isn't likely to shoot itself in the foot with mistakes, unlike Atlanta. The Falcons' backs are against the wall, and they typically don't lose big (a road loss against the Denver Broncos notwithstanding). The Vikings will take care of business, but a five-point spread is a bit much.
  • Vikings WR Justin Jefferson ANYTIME touchdown
Jefferson is very much due to find the endzone, not having caught a touchdown pass since late October. He's still getting plenty of volume, averaging eight targets per game. Jefferson ranks second in the NFL in receiving yards and has a great chemistry with quarterback Sam Darnold. This week he faces a subpar Falcons defense that has allowed 21 touchdown receptions this season, the fourth-most in the league.
  • Falcons QB Kirk Cousins UNDER 1.5 passing touchdowns
Cousins has gone ice cold over the past month, throwing zero touchdown passes in each of his last three games. He also has six interceptions during that span. Things have gotten so bad for Cousins that some people are clamoring for him to be benched for rookie backup quarterback Michael Penix Jr. Things may not get any better this week as the Vikings have a very talented secondary that leads the NFL in interceptions with 18.
