There have been no shortage of upsets during the 2024 season, and teams will need to be on alert as bowl games and the College Football Playoff looms. Here are our underdog picks that could win outright in Week 14.
*Odds subject to change
Kansas Jayhawks OVER Baylor Bears (-105 moneyline) – Caesars Sportsbook
The Jayhawks are on a roll, winners of their last three games – all of which they were underdogs in. After a slow start, they are putting it all together and are playing hard to be bowl eligible. Kansas' offense has been hot, led by quarterback Jalon Daniels and running back Devin Neal.
Baylor is surrendering an average of 32 points per game in Big 12 play. The Bears are playing well offensively, but not much better than how Kansas has played during its winning streak. I like the Jayhawks' defense to be the difference in this matchup.
No. 16 South Carolina Gamecocks OVER No. 12 Clemson Tigers (+115 moneyline) – BetMGM
South Carolina is riding a five-game winning streak and is arguably the hottest team in the SEC right now. The Gamecocks are averaging 41 points and 219 rushing yards over their last four games.
Clemson is averaging just 23 points over its last three games and has played just one ranked team this season, in which they were blown out by Georgia. The Tigers' defense has also been suspect at times, allowing over 30 points four times this season.
California Golden Bears OVER SMU Mustangs (+360 moneyline) – FanDuel
It's been a tough luck season for the Golden Bears, whose all five losses have come by just one possession. They gave No. 8 Miami a run for its money last month, falling just short by a score of 39-38.
California has won two of its last three games and is averaging 35 points per game during that span. SMU already has its spot in the ACC Championship game clinched, making this the definition of a trap game for the Mustangs.
