The 2024 college football season has been absolute chaos so far, and that should continue in week nine. This is going to bring an extremely interesting slate of games, and a lot of betting opportunities out there. In order to make the best bets of the weekend, understanding trends with some of these programs is very important.

Here are some of the more interesting bets on the table for the week. As always, let’s make some money, my friends. It’ll make watching college football all the more exciting.

Syracuse at (19) Pittsburgh – Over 62.5 points

Who would have thought that we could be seeing a shootout between Syracuse and Pittsburgh before the season? That’s exactly where we are entering the weekend, with two of the more productive passers in college football in Kyle McCord (Syracuse) and Eli Holstein (Pittsburgh). Both quarterbacks are playing tremendous football, and that should continue in this game. You should expect some fireworks in this one.

(17) Boise State at UNLV – Broncos -3.5

This is a game that quietly has some huge playoff indications for the future. This game feels like one that could go either way, but it's tough to get against what Ashton Jeanty is doing right now. Boise State just feels like the better team, and even on the road, it feels like they will come out on top. Maybe sprinkle in a little moneyline on the Broncos, who have a clear path to an automatic qualifier in the playoffs.

Georgia Tech at Virginia Tech – Yellow Jackets + 10.5

This one feels like a bit of recency bias. People just saw Georgia Tech lose pretty convincingly and believe this is the Yellow Jackets trending downward. Even with the injury to Haynes King, backup quarterback Zach Pyron is a serviceable player that can make plays. Virginia Tech has also been very up and down so far this season. That 10.5-point spread seems like a lot.

(11) BYU at UCF – under 55.5 points

You never know which UCF team you are going to get so it makes betting them a little bit volatile at times, but the BYU formula could win out here. They play really good defense, and are facing a quarterback in Jacurri Brown that is very one dimensional. On the BYU offensive side, quarterback Jake Retzlaff is playing good football, but they are still a running football team. They want to keep the chains moving, and control the pace. That’s the recipe for a lower scoring game.
