The Eagles are ready to bounce back after a disappointing 2023 campaign and get back to the Super Bowl. They did a nice job retooling their defense after some key losses, signing free agent pass rusher Bryce Huff and drafting defensive backs Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean.
There's bound to be a bit of a drop off going from Jason Kelce to Cam Jurgens at center, but Jurgens should be able to hold his own. Philly's big splash free agent signing is running back Saquon Barkley, who can elevate the offensive line's play with his elite skillset.
The Packers are the NFL's offseason darling team after dismantling the Dallas Cowboys in last year's Wild Card playoffs and nearly upsetting the San Fransisco 49ers in the divisional round. Many expect Jordan Love to establish himself as an elite quarterback this season and lead Green Bay to a deep postseason run. The additon of running back Josh Jacobs will round out the Packers' offense nicely.
This should be a tight game, but I like the Eagles to cover the 2.5 point spread. As intriguing as the Packers are, they're still young and relatively unproven, while Philly is full of veterans and has the more complete team. I also like the same-game parlay of the Eagles money line and receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith both over 75 receiving yards.
