The 6-6 Atlanta Falcons travel to Minnesota to take on the 10-2 Vikings in an important Week 14 NFC showdown.
The Vikings are hot off a come-from-behind victory over the Arizona Cardinals last week. Minnesota has won five in a row and are very much in contention for not only the NFC North title, but the No. 1 seed in the entire conference.
The Vikings are a well-rounded team, ranking in the top 10 of the NFL offensively and defensively. Justin Jefferson is the star on offense, ranking second among all wide receivers in yards with 1,038, and Jonathan Greenard leads the way on defense with 10 sacks, the third-most in the league.
The Falcons badly need a win as their season is quickly falling apart. They have lost three games in a row, and a large portion of the blame is being put on quarterback Kirk Cousins. Over his last three games, Cousins has thrown zero touchdown passes and six interceptions.
Atlanta has squandered the big lead it had in the NFC South, now tied for first with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If Cousins can get back to form and stop turning the ball over, the Falcons have plenty of talent on both sides of the ball to consistently win.
Here's our best odds, bets, and predictions for this matchup.

Vikings vs. Falcons Moneyline
Vikings: -235
Falcons: +192
You pretty much know what to expect from the Vikings at this point – good defense and safe, ball control offense. Minnesota isn't likely to shoot itself in the foot with mistakes, unlike the Falcons. The Vikings should get close to their 25-points per game average, with the possibility of more if Atlanta continues to turn the ball over at a high rate.
The Falcons are capable of putting up a lot of points and beating anybody, but Cousins just can't be trusted right now. Desperation and playing at his former home stadium may be enough for Cousins to get things going again, but nothing that Atlanta has done as of late warrants picking them to beat a good team on the road.
Vikings vs. Falcons Spread
Vikings: -5 (-110)
Falcons: +5 (-110)
The Falcons' backs are against the wall, and they typically don't lose big (a road loss against the Denver Broncos notwithstanding). The Vikings will take care of business, but a five-point spread is a bit much. I'll bet on Atlanta to cover.
Vikings vs. Falcons Over-Under 45.5 total points
Over: -110
Under: -100
The Falcons have to be putting an emphasis on taking care of the ball, which could mean they go with a run-heavy, somewhat conservative approach. I expect this game to be a defensive battle with just a few big plays, which could decide the game. I'm betting the under.
