The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a terrible rushing attack. This shouldn't be news to anyone.

Between a bad scheme and rushers that do little to inspire, it doesn't look like a whole lot of moves exist to make a quick fix here.

And, to make matters worse, it looks like the best free agent running back on the market, Leonard Fournette, is announcing where he will be soon, and it seems unlikely that the Bucs will benefit from this announcement.

It makes sense that Leonard Fournette's name is finally starting to get some traction in the market. A lot of teams are hurting, and Fournette is probably as fresh as he has ever been.

While the Bucs probably made the right decision in the moment to move on from Fournette, the further devolution of the rushing attack with the loss of the Super Bowl champion back has made it seem like a return to Fournette could help in the short term.

Fournette's recent announcement on X doesn't inspire much confidence that he is returning.

It seems like the pomp and circumstance wouldn't happen if Fournette was just announcing a return to Tampa. This has all of the makings of Fournette announcing his signing with more of a contender with a need next week.

Buccaneers fans don't need to hold their breath.
