The final domino has finally fallen in the NFL for the final head coaching to be filled.

Washington Commanders have settled on their next head coach and it will be Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn taking over.

One issue immediately pops off with this hire and it was pointed out here yesterday. The Commanders had three candidates for the job and they were all defensive guys. Washington just moved off of Ron Rivera, another defensive guy who was not able to get the job done.

From an outside perspective, bringing in an offensive guy made the most sense. They very well could have gone that way but Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson pulled his name out of the hat.

Washington very well could be drafting a quarterback early in April and pairing said selection with an offensive coach would have gone hand in hand. Quinn comes in with a record of 43-42 as a head coach from his time with the Atlanta Falcons (2015-2020).

It’ll have to play out before any true judgment is made but there is reason to have worry about this hire that has been made by the Commanders.
