The Kansas City Chiefs are dealing with attrition on both sides of the football in Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers on "Sunday Night Football."

The latest development comes at the left tackle position.

Donovan Smith briefly exited the game in the first offensive series of the game and was replaced by rookie LT Wanya Morris. Smith came back in the game and finished out the first half, but when the team came out to start the second half, it was Morris who was starting on the left side of the line.

The Chiefs then announced that Smith was questionable to return due to a neck injury, and provided an update on LB Drue Tranquill

Smith has been listed on the injury report for a few weeks now with a neck injury. It has been called a stinger by Andy Reid, but the exact nature of the injury is unknown. The fact that it cropped up again in this game isn't a good sign for the veteran left tackle.

Thankfully, Morris has some experience under his belt, coming in briefly for Smith just last week against the Las Vegas Raiders. He got some serious praise from the offensive coaching staff for his performance and play in those five snaps. He's certainly on his way to opening some eyes at a position that isn't quite set for the future in Kansas City. If he could perhaps develop into the answer at that position, that'd be a massive development for the Chiefs moving forward. It'd allow the team to invest heavily in surrounding Patrick Mahomes with the best possible weapons.

However, for now, the goal is to just get through this game against the Packers on the road.
