NFL analyst says something else people should be worried about other than Mahomes' ankle
There has been, I guess you could say a narrative, that Patrick Mahomes ankle will very well keep this team from showing exactly what they can do in the Super Bowl. There is a feeling that without a fully healthy Mahomes, the Chiefs have no shot. Yes, those are real takes. But, what if I, […]
There has been, I guess you could say a narrative, that Patrick Mahomes ankle will very well keep this team from showing exactly what they can do in the Super Bowl. There is a feeling that without a fully healthy Mahomes, the Chiefs have no shot.
Yes, those are real takes.
But, what if I, or, someone else like an NFL analyst, told you that there is something else that you should be far more worried about? Well, not you, but Eagles fans.
There is something Eagles fans should be more worried about than Chiefs fans are with Mahomes ankle.
Did we all seem to forget that Jalen Hurts missed two games due to a shoulder injury? Then, when he came back, they almost lost to a Giants team that didn't play their starters because Hurts couldn't make certain throws, and was still hurting.
This actually happened, and Hurts has said even this week among the 250 million interviews he has done, that he still isn't 100%.
I'm not the only one that feels this way either. One NFL analyst in Trey Wingo thinks so too.
Wingo put out on Twitter on Saturday that he has been saying the Hurts shoulder injury is a bigger factor than the Mahomes ankle injury. We should all be thinking more like Wingo.
First, Mahomes has now won two playoff games with a high ankle sprain by changing his play style. He stayed in the pocket more, ran a lot fewer bootlegs, and didn't run. It worked too.
Hurts, well, you can't really play differently with a shoulder because that's how you throw the ball. We saw, even though they were wins, he make some throws against the Giants and 49ers that could have been so much better.
He was also bailed out a few times on bad throws by DeVonta Smith.
Both are situations to monitor but Hurts injury is a bigger factor in my opinion.
