Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes briefly left the game and headed back to the locker room to try and give every Chiefs fan a scare.

After watching the replay of the ankle injury, and the Jaguars' defender falling on his leg, it didn't look good. And seeing what was going on on the sideline didn't make anyone feel any better.

Mahomes slammed his jacket to the ground and argued with Andy Reid and the training staff not to take him out, even though it was pretty obvious he couldn't really walk without hopping on one foot.

When he came back from the locker room, he stood on the sideline with his helmet on but was ruled questionable to return. Obviously, after Chad Henne led the Chiefs to a scoring drive, Mahomes came back out to start the second half.

But, there was an update released on how his check-up went in the locker room.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Mahomes' x-rays came back negative, which is  good news. It does appear to be a high ankle sprain, though, something that can be finicky when it comes to the healing process.
