As much as shortsighted football fans try to deny it, Taylor Swift is bigger than the NFL. A quick look at the impact Swift's Eras Tour has made around the world and her social media following reveals overwhelming proof that it's true.

But following a recent report from The Messenger, the worlds have collided as Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce reportedly hung out with the superstar singer.

"Taylor and Travis have been quietly hanging out," a source reportedly told The Messenger. "She saw him when she was in NYC a few weeks ago."

Talk about a major win for Travis Kelce. You could very well call it a win bigger than the Super Bowl. Swifties would easily agree.

On a recent episode of his podcast with this brother and Philadelphia Eagles' future Hall of Famer, Jason, the Chiefs tight end talked about wanting to meet Swift before one of her concerts before he learned Taylor "doesn't talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings."

Travis revealed that had Swiftie met him, his plan was to give her a friendship bracelet he made for her with his number on it.

Everything Swifties must know about Chiefs star Travis Kelce

I feel like I absolutely need to start with a few not-so-random numbers: Kelce was born in 1989. He was drafted into the NFL in 2013. He happens to weigh 250 pounds or 113 kilograms. Just saying.

The 33-year-old is a two-time Super Bowl Champion and a massive superstar because of one big reason: No one plays his position (tight end) quite like he does.

Playing tight end is all about versatility: You've got to block and you've got to catch. But the thing is Kelce catches the football at a very high level and was officially named one of the best players of the 2010s by the NFL as a result of it. He's earned four First-Team All-Pro seasons, which means being the best at the position. He has another three Second-Team All-Pro years.

After his NFL career, he's for sure going into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the ultimate achievement for a football player. And while he doesn't own as many records in his industry as Taylor Swift does, here are some of his NFL records:

  • Most seasons with 1,000+ receiving yards by a tight end (7).
  • Most receiving yards in a single season by a tight end (1,416).
  • Most receptions by any NFL tight end in their first 10 seasons with 814 catches.
  • Became the fastest tight end in NFL history to reach the 800-reception plateau, doing so in 142 career games played.

As a football player, Kelce has had some anger-driven moments throughout his career. Including that one time when he threw his towel at the ref, imitating the motion of an official throwing a flag to indicate a foul.

This leads me to the question Swifties might be asking themselves… Can Travis Kelce fight? Well…
