Rashod Bateman had himself a productive outing on offense in the Baltimore Ravens’ Week 8 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
Bateman was targeted twice by Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson against Arizona, and he hauled in two receptions for 34 receiving yards, including a 29-yard catch in Baltimore’s first drive of the game. He also tallied 18 rushing yards in the contest.
More importantly, Bateman featured in 62 percent of snaps on offense against Arizona.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh is satisfied to see Bateman’s hard work in practice now pay off in games.
"That's really perceptive because it's not really confidence in [Rashod Bateman's] ability," Harbaugh said during a press conference ahead of Week 9. "He's always been very confident. It's confidence in his health. [It's] the fact that he's been able to stack practices now and get a feel in the offense and catch balls and run routes and compete for balls."
Harbaugh is now hoping to see Bateman emerge as a reliable contributor on offense in the latter half of Baltimore's campaign.
"I think the second half of the season for Rashod is going to be big [and] is going to be very successful," Harbaugh said.
Overall, Bateman has logged 14 catches for 152 receiving yards this season.
