The Buffalo Bills secured a dominant victory over the Miami Dolphins, letting the world know that their Super Bowl window is not closed and that they're the real deal.
Headlines leading into this contest all discussed the red-hot Dolphins offense taking on the stout Bills defense. Buffalo got the upper hand after a strong start to both offenses to start the game.
However, injuries reared their ugly head a slew of key players went down with injury. For a moment, before returning to the game, Ed Oliver went down. Taron Johnson was banged up late in the contest, the team lost Christian Benford early into the contest but he was able to come back into the contest, and All-Pro CB Tre'Davious White needed to be carted off the field.
Immediately after the contest, Sean McDermott opened up to the media on the slew of concerning injuries, not easing our minds and hearts with what he had to say about the potential crushing blows to the defense.
McDermott started with the obvious, as Alaina Getzenberg reported, Tre White is still being evaluated before he continued to talk about his resiliency as a professional, heaping praise on the talented CB, "He will rebound." He continued, "To see him on the field the way he was hurting, that's hard, that's hard to watch."
He concluded, with the way he was speaking making us immediately have cause for concern. “Sometimes you just wonder why? He worked so hard to get back… He personifies what it means to be a Buffalo Bill.”
Not having any information isn't groundbreaking, but it gives us a reason to be concerned as the injury looked devastating, with White throwing his helmet in disgust after the non-contact injury.
For now, all that's left to do is wait and hear more. Fingers crossed it's not as bad as it looked.
