The Chicago Bears have found themselves in all of the headlines this offseason regarding their quarterback position and the team's 2023 starter has finally spoken up.

Justin Fields caused quite the stir on social media on Monday after he supposedly unfollowed the Bears official team page on Instagram. The action was of course was blown out of proportion on social media due to his uncertain future with the team.

However, the reaction was warranted considering last time a player for the Bears had a cryptic action on social media, he was soon released by the team. That player of course was long-time Bears veteran safety, Eddie Jackson.

Fields has finally come out for the first time and addressed what happened and his future in Chicago while appearing on the St. Brown Brothers podcast with Pro Bowl wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and Fields' wide receiver in Chicago Equanimeous St. Brown. Here's what he had to say:

"I'm glad we're talking about it, because why do people take social media so serious," Fields said on the podcast. "I still mess with the Bears, I'm just trying to take a little break. I unfollowed the Bears and the NFL. I'm not just trying to have football on my timeline. It's something that I don't want to spend my time on. I'm about to go on vacation and I don't want to see no football."

So, it seems like the reactions on social media were clearly blown heavily out of proportion once again. Fields also had a great rationale for his actions considering what's being said on social media regarding his future with the Bears.

"Every Bears post, it's either: keep Fields and we want Fields or we should draft Caleb [Williams]," he added. "Man, I'm tired of hearing it."

As for his future itself with the team and his personal feelings about staying in Chicago, Fields kept it real with the St. Brown brothers.

"Of course I want to stay," Fields said. "To be honest, with all the talk, it's hard to be in one place, but I can't see myself playing in another place. But, I know how the league is like. EQ probably felt the same way before he left Green Bay. It feels like to me, I would want to stay in Chicago. I love the city. The city's lit. The fans are great. But, it's a business I've got no control over so whatever happens happens."

"I feel like the biggest thing with all this going on right now, I just want it to be over," Fields added. "Just let me know if I'm getting traded."

It was refreshing to see Fields be so open about the ongoing situation that seems to have no end currently in sight. The Bears are armed with the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft with the expectation that the team will consider drafting quarterback Caleb Williams with the top pick. It seems like Fields is just tired of all the noise and just wants an official decision from the front office already.
