The Cincinnati Bengals' 2024 coaching staff has been finalized right in time for the NFL Scouting Combine to commence.
Cincinnati officially announced the hiring of Jordan Salkin as an offensive assistant, Ronnie Regula as a defensive assistant, and Ben Jacobs as a special teams assistant.
Salkin's hiring was initially reported two weeks ago. He comes to Cincinnati from the University of Oregon, where he spent the 2023 season as an offensive analyst. He's mainly been a college coach, but he did serve as an offensive quality control coach with the Miami Dolphins in 2021.
Regula will help out on defense in the city he played college ball over a decade ago. He transferred from Mount St. Joseph to the Univeristy of Miami to play tight end. He has nine years of coaching experience in the collegiate ranks, most recently as a senior defensive analyst at the University of Notre Dame from 2022-23.
Jacobs was a former NFL linebacker and even spent a brief period on the Bengals' practice squad in 2012. He's spent the past five seasons as an assistant special teams coach with the Carolina Panthers (2019) and Washington Commanders ('20-23).
All three assistants can be considered replacements for in-house promotions or departures. Salkin completes the offensive staff after Fredi Knighten was promoted to assistant quarterbacks coach. Regula completes the defensive side after Jordan Kovacs was promoted to safeties/secondary coach. Jacobs replaces Colt Anderson, whom left to be the special teams coordinator for the Tennessee Titans.
