A new SEC means a new matchup of bluebloods.
For the first time since conference realignment occurred, the Alabama Crimson Tide and Oklahoma Sooners will square off.
And while the game doesn't mean much for Oklahoma, they have a chance at going to a bowl game on the line, and perhaps more importantly, a shot at playing spoiler for the Crimson Tide:
Q – Oklahoma HC Brent Venables is one of the smartest defensive minds in the country. One could argue the same for Alabama HC Kalen DeBoer on the offensive side of the ball. What are you looking forward to in this chess match?
A – The fact that you are calling this a chess match is nice. I think in the beginning of the game it will be that, as the defense will start hot and maybe even shut down Bama on the first drive or hold them to a FG. But, as the game goes on, and the offense starts to put the defense in bad situations, this will be much more of a checkers match with Bama stealing all of OU's pieces.

Q – Alabama DC Kane Wommack talked about having to prepare for multiple QBs this week and the challenge that presents despite the similarities between the signal callers. What’s your take on the 2 man unit?
A– I think they should have done that after the South Carolina game when Michael Hawkins had three turnovers leading to scores within the first five minutes of the game. Both kids have a ton of potential but just haven't had enough experience to know what to do in certain situations. They're both extremely young. But, they both do certain things well and other things bad, so I don't see why they shouldn't use a 2-man unit at QB. Now will they? That's something we are waiting to ask BV this week.

Q – Alabama won’t overlook OU, but it’s clear they are the favorites in this matchup. If OU has any shot at an upset, what has to happen?
A – If they have any shot, which I don't think they do, they simply just have to sustain drives and not turn the ball over. They lead the country in fumbles lost, and are very high in turnovers leading to scores. That's a recipe for disaster. But, with how the offense has looked, I can't see that happening, especially when they have to run the ball because they simply can't pass it.

Alabama’s road to redemption in the CFP gets that much harder following yet another season-ending injury
One less playmaker in the mix.
