There's a first for everything.

And after nearly a season's worth of doing the dirty work on offense, longtime member of the Alabama Crimson Tide and senior TE-FB Robbie Ouzts reached the endzone:

Robbie Touches the Paint

"Robbie's just kind of a Swiss Army knife for us, especially the blocking aspect," HC Kalen DeBoer said when asked about the TE catching his first TD of the Year. "They put a lot of guys at the line of scrimmage and some play actions we got behind them on. For Robbie Ouzts to get behind them on one was really great. You can tell the love that the team has for him…. He's got a toughness about him that exudes what Alabama football is all about."

The Alabama Crimson Tide rolled the Mercer Bears in what was sure to be a depth chart game for the Crimson & White. A 52-7 victory that featured second and third teamers after the first quarter and a half, these are the perfect games to get some of the unsung heroes of the team involved.

And no one defies that role better than senior Robbie Ouzts. When you think of Alabama football, it's hard-nosed, lunch-pail mentality football that starts with dominating the opponent.

Frankly, that's the definition of the fullback position, one that has largely gone the way of extinction in modern football climates.

But the Tide still believes in winning through the trenches, and HC Kalen DeBoer is unafraid to get his hands dirty, or more so his fullback's hands dirty if you will.

So that play was an appreciation TD if nothing else. A massive thank you for your years of service that similar to offensive lineman, largely goes unrecognized.

But with a trip to the College Football Playoff looking more likely by the week, and a potential trip to Atlanta for another appearance in the SEC championship against the likes of Texas, Georgia or Tennessee still on the table, it may not be the last you see of Ouzts in the endzone.
