Jalen Milroe was a lighting rod both on and off the field during his time as signal caller of the Alabama Crimson Tide

But no matter the highs and lows, many stood by Milroe as the captain and starting QB at the Capstone.

Yet, it seems that many media members and possibly even some NFL personnel think his best bet in the NFL is to switch positions.

Milroe has a message for them…

Jalen Milroe doesn't plan on switching positions

Typically that cliche goes "You don't ask a Zebra to change their stripes," but when you're as unique a person and player as Jalen Milroe, you can say and do what you want.

That includes playing QB, even if he has his detractors. Because it seems that for the majority of the league, Milroe is actually pretty high in terms of draft projection…

"I think he's ahead of where Jalen Hurts was. We know that now because we have the calls with the teams," Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy said on Check the Mic. "[Hurts] was a fourth or fifth-round draft pick for most teams, we all know he ended up going in the second [round] to Philly and he's outplayed that even. There's a pretty wide range on Jalen [Milroe]. I think some range from late first to late third, early fourth, depending on what team you talk to. It's a pretty wide range, but he's ahead of where Jalen Hurts was."

The Senior Bowl certainly didn't help Milroe hold off the rumors of changing positions. He struggled to make relatively routine throws during the first two days of practice, and he may have fumbled his best opportunity to become QB #3 in the draft class

But two years of tape including a run to the CFP semifinal should outweigh any amount of practice. Not to mention Milroe has one of the highest characters in the class and his teammates tend to gravitate towards him.

So we'll see where exactly he lands in the NFL Draft, but don't expect it to be at a position other than QB.
