The number one running back prospect out of Alabama is Alvin Henderson from Elba, AL. The young star-in-the-making is coming off a 3600-yard season in just 14 games and is one of the most coveted college football recruits in the entire nation.

However, Henderson made it clear to Chad Simmons at On3 Sports that the team to beat for his services isn't Alabama. It isn't Auburn. It's Mike Norvell and Florida State.

Henderson reportedly told Simmons, "Honestly Chad, Florida State is my number one school." coming off of this weekend's Under Armour Next camp in Atlanta, Georgia.

Apparently Henderson is a huge fan of the stability at the Florida State program. Alabama just lost the greatest coach of all time. Cadillac Williams just recently left the Auburn coaching staff. Henderson clearly wants to join a stable competitive program that he can join knowing he'll have a steady home for his college football career.

Henderson has been a consensus Top 100 recruit for over a year now, and continues to prove himself every chance he gets at a variety of camps and competitions. And he hasn't officially committed to Florida State just yet, but it seems his Junior Day on campus there at the start of February went incredibly well. The Seminoles are already off to a hot start for 2025 recruiting as they currently rank 15th in the nation. If they can add Henderson they'll certainly leap into the top ten.

This is more bad news for Alabama as there were already questions surrounding Kalen DeBoer's recruiting ability. The Crimson Tide has just two recruits committed for 2025 and now they can't even pull the top in-state running back talent in Alvin Henderson.

Henderson has the talent to be an immediate impact player wherever he goes, and as of today it looks like that will be at Florida State. If you'd like to see some of the highlight plays that make him one of the best running backs in the nation just check out this video below!
