Auburn Tigers and new HC Alex Golesh secured most important transfer portal target to help Byrum Brown
Auburn desperately needed a replacement for Cam Coleman and their entire WR group, and they’ve found it in Keshaun Singleton
Alex Golesh and the Auburn Tigers have been hard at work in the transfer portal. Yes, most of the additions have been USF Bulls players who followed Golesh to his new head coaching position in the SEC, but many of them will likely prove important to Auburn’s 2026 success.
Outside of landing quarterback Byrum Brown, there hasn’t been any true “must-have” wins via the transfer portal. That changed on Friday. It was announced that the Auburn Tigers landed wide receiver Keshaun Singleton, a former USF Bulls star. That addition is easily the most important win for Golesh and his new staff now for multiple reasons.
Keshaun Singleton should be most important offensive player outside of Byrum Brown for Auburn Tigers
The Auburn Tigers lost essentially their entire wide receiver group this offseason. Cam Coleman, Eric Singleton, Malcolm Simmons, Horatio Fields, Perry Thompson, Cam’Ron King, all gone. Auburn was in major need of wide receiver talents, and new head coach Alex Golesh had delivered the vast majority of USF’s receiver group via the portal. However, none of them are as explosive and game-breaking as Singleton.
Singleton posted nearly 900 yards and eight receiving touchdowns in just 12 games in 2025. He’s a 6-3, 215-pound speedster who has averaged six yards after the catch per reception and 2.25 yards per route run throughout his entire career. He might not be quite as dynamic as Cam Coleman, but he’s definitely the closest thing out there to a physical comparison in the transfer portal right now. The question from some might be, “Can he win at wide receiver in the SEC?” The answer to that is an obvious and resounding, “Yes!”, as you can see in the highlight post below.
Singleton played some of his best football against both Florida and Miami last year, averaging over 25 yards per reception and scoring a touchdown across those two games. He also dominated down the stretch last season, averaging well over 100 receiving yards per game in his final four, and scoring five touchdowns in that span.
Singleton should immediately step in as the WR1 and the focal point of the entire passing attack for the Auburn Tigers this season. If he is successful, and finds ways to dominate at the SEC level with the chemistry he already possesses with Byrum Brown, Auburn’s new quarterback, then the Tigers could have an exciting offense. If he struggles? It could be a rough start to the Golesh era.
