The Auburn Tigers are getting ready to play the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday, in a rivalry game that some think will be much closer than anticipated. However, after that game is over, the Tigers will play Missouri the following week, and that game just got even bigger, with more to play for, before they even kick off in Auburn this weekend.

According to Rivals Recruiting Insider Steve Wiltfong, Auburn will be hosting three-star tight end Dream Rashad next week, a player they desperately want.

“I always enjoy being at Auburn,” Rashad told Rivals. “It’s a big family environment. All the coaches and players. The atmosphere is great with the fans. Best of both worlds. Education and football.”

Auburn needs a player like Rashad

Rashad, a 2026 three-star tight end with the build of a guy who can easily be dominant by the time his college career is done, is a tight end who looks much better than his three-star rating would suggest. He’s 6’6″, 210 pounds, and moves really well for his size.

Rashad is the No. 70 tight end in the country out of Georgia, but Auburn believes he is actually better than that. He’s currently committed to Purdue, and flipping him would be a big win for the Tigers. Not to mention, they do have a bit of the upper hand in their quest to flip him over teams like the Florida State Seminoles and Miami Hurricanes, because Auburn is closer to Georgia.

Beating Georgia, or at least putting up a great fight and showing how close you really are to being a competitive team, will be a great way to get Rashad’s attention. Beating Missouri the next week, with him in attendance, would be even bigger, which is exactly what they need.

Head coach Hugh Freeze recently said that his message to recruits is “Be that player to help us get over the hump.” That message could resonate a ton with Dream if he sees how close this team truly is.
