The Auburn Tigers have had every opportunity to be undefeated right now, as every game they have lost was a one-score or even single-digit game in the fourth quarter at some point. However, they just can’t find ways to win, but instead, as head coach Hugh Freeze said, they find ways to lose.

So, how do they continue from here?

“Show up to work on Monday, get ready to win a football game. That’s how it looks,” Freeze told reporters after the loss to the Georgia Bulldogs when asked what accountability looks like right now.

The Tigers have to find a way to push through and get over that hump.

Tigers HC Hugh Freeze can still turn the season around

Sure, the Tigers are already a three-loss team, six games into the season. However, they can still turn this thing around. It’s not impossible that this team wins out. In the first half against Georgia, the Auburn offense looked great, maybe the best it’s looked in a very long time. They were set to be up 17-0 on Georgia at the half before the goal-line fumble that wasn’t a goal-line fumble.

The second half saw them crumble, where they didn’t score at all. Before the final few minutes in the first half, the defense didn’t give up a point. The officiating allowed Georgia to get back in the game with some points at the end of the half, and then UGA scored 17 points in the second half, kind of taking off on Auburn.

If that first-half team plays for even three quarters of a game, they may win that game easily. So, who’s to say that this team can’t beat the Missouri Tigers, Vanderbilt Commodores, and Alabama Crimson Tide, which are the only real tough games left on their schedule? They can, now, if that will happen or not is something we don’t know, because this is Auburn, and something crazy always happens, and this is the SEC, where even crazier things happen.

Freeze is saying he’s just got to keep showing up and keep trying to fix it. But, if things like this keep happening, I can’t see a world where he isn’t asked this after every single game, even going into next season, if he is retained after this one.
