It is going to be a very intriguing weekend in college football, with several big games ready to kick off on Saturday. When breaking down the landscape, there are also some interesting lines and over-unders to really decipher. Myself and Mike Donzuso did so on this week’s edition of Good, Bettor, Bets.
Here are the best bets of the week in college football. There’s money to be made, and hopefully this breakdown helps. Happy betting, my friends.
(11) USC at (18) Michigan – under 46.5 points
The Trojans look like a team who is extremely improved, including being more balanced on the offensive side of the football and a lot more physical defensively. They are also going against a Michigan team whose offense has been downright putrid so far. On the Wolverine side, they still have a very good defense. Just how good is the USC offense under Miller Moss? It feels like the game against LSU may have given a slight false source of confidence. We will know a lot more this weekend.
Arkansas at Auburn – Razorbacks +4
Arkansas has shown signs of life this season, led by Boise State transfer quarterback Taylen Green. They are also running the football well with Green and running back Ja’Quinden Jackson. They now take on a struggling Auburn team who is set to start a redshirt freshman at quarterback. Even if you are only getting +2.5 or so for Arkansas, it feels like a game where they win outright.
Ohio at Kentucky – Ohio +20
This is far from an upset alert selection. Kentucky should, and will win on Saturday. It’s just hard to feel confident with a cover right now from the Wildcats with how poor their offense has looked this season. The team is averaging just 16.3 points per game, and is neither throwing or running the ball overly well. This is more a pick against Kentucky, than for Ohio. Keeping the scoring down definitely lends to the under.
Florida at Mississippi State – over 58.5
That O/U is quite high, but neither Florida nor Mississippi State is playing any semblance of defense so far. If the Gators stop the nonsense and play true freshman quarterback DJ Lagway, then they will score a lot of points on Saturday. They would probably do so with Graham Mertz as well. Hidden behind a really bad Mississippi State team, their quarterback Blake Shapen has been playing some really good football. Both offenses should score a nice amount of points this weekend.
