‘Keep the receipts’ — Emerging Florida Gators star has harsh words for the doubters
Dallas Wilson is still dealing with an injury ahead of spring practice.
The Florida Gators are set to open up spring practice on Tuesday, and they will be doing so without a healthy wide receiver Dallas Wilson. He is set to be limited to start spring practice, as he is still dealing with the right foot injury that kept him out of multiple games in 2025.
It’s a difficult blow for head coach Jon Sumrall, but not one that should be a major surprise. He had surgery after the season to fix the injury. However, being limited to start is a good thing for Wilson, as he will be participating in some capacity.
Dallas Wilson calls out people who don’t believe in him
Being that Wilson has only played in four games and missed a lot of fall camp on top of that, there are some who are questioning whether or not he is the future of the program like we were led to believe. When Wilson did finally debut after a dominant performance in the Spring Game, he dominated the Texas Longhorns for over 100 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing what he could be at the college level.
Outside of that performance, the Gators haven’t gotten much from Wilson, which ahs caused a lot of frustration among the fanbase. Needless to say, Wilson has seen the criticism and is keeping the receipts.
This is the exact kind of thing that can motivate an athlete. Wilson is still one of the best young wide receivers in college football and can be a first-round pick if he plays up to his potential. The key will be staying healthy, which has already shown to be an issue in his short career.
Don’t be surprised to see Wilson thrive once he gets healthy, and he will deserve to boast about his performance when he does.
